How You
Can Go to Heaven
Eternal life is a
free gift to all who will receive it, and
God’s desire is that everyone be saved.
2 Peter 3:9 makes this abundantly clear,
"God is not willing that any should
perish, but that all should come to repentance."
To "perish" is to die without God’s forgiveness
and then to spend eternity in the lake of
fire. Revelation 20:13-15 paints a dreadful
picture of the results of the final judgment,
"And the sea gave up the dead which
were in it; and death and hell delivered
up the dead which were in them: and they
were judged every man according to their
works. And death and hell were cast into
the lake of fire. This is the second death.
And whosoever was not found written in the
book of life was cast into the lake of fire."
These verses describe for us the means
whereby God will finally put away the results
of sin.There is Good News
God has made a way for us to be saved from
the lake of fire by sending us His Son.
"For God so loved the world, that
he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever
believeth in him should not perish, but
have everlasting life," John 3:16.
There Is Bad News
We need to be saved because we are sinners.
"For all have sinned, and come short
of the glory of God," Romans 3:23.
God demands
a payment for our sin. "For the wages
of sin is death," Romans
6:23a.
There Is More Good
News
Jesus made the payment for us by His death
on the cross. "But God commendeth
(displayed) his love toward us, in that,
while we were yet sinners, Christ died for
us," Romans 5:8.
Our part
is to confess our sins and receive Christ
as our Savior believing that when Jesus
died on the cross, He was dying in our place
and paying the penalty for our sins.
"That if thou shalt confess with thy
mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe
in thine heart that God hath raised him
from the dead, thou shalt be saved,"
Romans 10:9.
If in your
heart you feel sorry for your sins and believe
that Jesus died for you, was buried, and
rose again just as the Bible says, then
all that is necessary for you to do to be
born again is to pray and receive Christ
as your Savior. "For whosoever shall
call upon the name of the Lord shall be
saved," Romans 10:13.
Here Is a Simple
Way to Pray
"Dear Lord, I know I am a sinner, and I
am sorry for my sins. I believe that Jesus
died for me, was buried, and rose again.
Right now, dear Jesus, I ask You to forgive
my sins, and come into my heart, and save
me. I trust You, Jesus, with all my heart.
Amen."
